These enter diverse industries ranging from automotive to industrial to marine applications. As a graduate engineer you would be joining a diverse team of subject matter experts to develop the next wave of electrification technology.  



About the role

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, your primary purpose is to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge power converters. Your contributions will feed into multiple high technology projects.

You will benefit from a rotation based training scheme where 3 months will be spent in each engineering department to broaden your knowledge. In this time, in addition to spending time in the Mechanical team you will have the opportunity to contribute and learn about:

Electronics engineering: Electronics hardware and software testing, PCB layout, Design for EMC.

Systems engineering and Projects: Requirements capture, project planning and test specifications.

Software Engineering: Writing software in C to control high voltages and high current converters.

Test Facilities: Planning for and running commercial EMC and environmental tests for customers in our new test laboratory. 


Main duties and responsibilities in the mechanical team
You will take ownership for your own tasks and will endeavour to deal with issues using your own acumen. You will be encouraged to Integrate your own methods and ideas to deliver the company’s technical innovations and be given opportunity to grow, learn, and be guided by experts in the field.

As part of this role, you will collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams, contributing meaningfully to projects in a cohesive work environment where individual input is highly regarded. You will demonstrate proficiency in mechanical design fundamentals, including an understanding of modelling and simulation methods, while taking ownership of tasks, proactively resolving issues, and communicating effectively with the Project Management team.

Engage closely with a diverse range of projects within a close-knit team structure, designing high power tightly packaged power electronics assemblies for harsh operating environment and challenging thermal conditions. These must efficiently remove heat from electronic components. Designs are validated through simulation and rigorous testing.

Craft specifications and interpret requirements, adhering to project timelines, and assist in product documentation, including design notes, bills of materials, and user manuals. Engage directly with customers, occasionally providing on-site support, and exhibit self-motivation in problem-solving endeavours.



Use mechanical engineering tools including Solidworks, CFD and FEA packages, ensure designs are fit for manufacture and assembly. Be practically minded and keen to get hands on building and testing prototypes and test set ups in a workshop and laboratory environment. 

Who we are looking for

- You are in your final year or graduated within last two years from a university, with strong      academic performance.

- You hold or are obtaining an engineering degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical        Engineering.

- You have achieved or are predicted a 2.1 or above

- You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you will always be              working as part of a team.

- You have an interest in electrification of drivetrains.

- You have a healthy ambition, are adaptable, with a can-do attitude.

- You have a current UK driving licence.

- You are eligible to work in the UK permanently without needing sponsorship now or in the    future.
